While working on the Technology Bytes page, these two promos were found at the beginning and end of mp3 files dating to the 2006-2007 era. In those years KPFT, like most terrestrial radio, was well into the internet age and offered both streaming access via the internet and the ability to listen to archived programs for some time after their initial broadcast.
After an early 2000s dalliance with then-king of streaming media Real Networks & their Realplayer software, KPFT and other Pacifica stations started streaming mp3s and dumping each program to hard drive sometime around 2004. Then and now listeners can catch up on their favorite KPFT programs for 2 week (music programming) to several months (most talk and community affairs programming) after the initial air date: https://archive.kpft.org.
This was, and is, an additional expense, and these promos were added to archived shows as into and outro bumpers. Listeners to FM 90.1 probably never heard them.
