The Program
Bluegrass has been a staple on the KPFT airwaves almost since the beginning, with the premiere of The Bluegrass Express in 1972 and the mid-1980s Back Forty Bluegrass.
In 1987 The Bluegrass Zone premiered on KPFT, hosted by Chris Hirsch, and ran for almost 30 years before The Bluegrass Depot took over the legacy of bluegrass programming on KPFT.
